XAVIER
(brooding)
I didn't ask for this.

DAWNRUNNER
It doesn't matter. What happened to us has happened for a reason. Don't you see? We can change it all.

We can make a difference for all of them. Everyone.

XAVIER
A difference? Look at history, Dawn. Nothing we do matters. It's all a big game to them.

We're nothing, just pawns.

(OFF SCREEN)
Maybe it will help humanity from repeating the same mistakes again.

XAVIER
Good and Evil have been battling since the beginning of time. Why would you think we're any different?

DAWNRUNNER
We are different. For some reason, the rules have changed.

XAVIER
I'm not so sure about that.

Throughout the Ages, humanity has been the toys of good and evil. We're nothing more than their Pawns.

XAVIER (NARRATION)
Some of us have achieved "greatness" and became Rooks, Bishops, or Knights.

XAVIER (NARRATION)
But it was all simply a trick played by one side or the other to gain an advantage.

It's funny. We as humans must put names on everything so we
can pretend to understand.

We use names like "Obsession."

"Divine Intervention."

XAVIER (NARRATION)
"Speaking in Tongues."

XAVIER (NARRATION)
"Insanity."

XAVIER (NARRATION)
I call it a curse.

Many would deduce that I am a tool of evil being used to further the damnation of our world.
